THE BEST See how the Spartans took the title in Columbus THE BLOWOUT Turpin coasted to its first-ever Regional title
Sophomore Carolyn Rauen won the 2001 Regional Championship in Troy, then followed it up with a 15th place finish at Scioto Downs. Rauen would continue her dominance over the next two and a half years, establishing herself as the top female runner in Turpin history.
THE FOLLOW-UP Rauen's heroic effort led the Spartans to a second place finish in the state in 2002. Take a peek into the Trophy Case for a championship recap and other season highlights.
Despite their 2nd place finish, the 2002 team was actually the fastest Turpin had ever seen. Carolyn Rauen, Corey Randall, and Melanie Price were the fastest "Top Three" runners from a single team in State Meet history. Turpin's team average at the State meet came out to a speedy 19:00, which was faster than the State Champion 2001 team.
THE LAST STAND Turpin would make one last run at the State Title in 2003, Carolyn Rauen's final season
THE END OF AN ERA The freshmen of the State Title team would lead the 2004 Spartans to an incredible 5th consecutive Top Ten
