Miles to go before we sleep...

It would be foolish to embark on something as demanding, time consuming and worthwhile as competitive distance running without first understanding where you will end up after your hard earned miles and hours of sweat have been paid. Why go out a cold Sunday morning and labor over a weekly long run? Why press on with fast interval after fast interval on a hot afternoon? Why wake up at 5:30 for predawn flexibility and turnover drills? The 2010-2011 Turpin Distance Crew has collectively decided to write out a vision statement defining what type of program we are to become and to sufficiently answer, why do we do what we do?

Over the next few weeks (maybe even months), as a part of Friday afternoon Runner’s Education sessions the Turpin Distance Crew will continue to collaboratively define what it means to be a Turpin Spartan distance runner. Our progress will unfold as it occurs on this website. Since we want this to be a true collaborative effort we welcome any input from all members of the Turpin running community, athletes, parents, coaches, alumni, former coaches, administrators, fans and anyone else who feels they are a stakeholder in this matter.

Miles to go before we sleep, miles to go before we sleep…
